The Raiders got off to a slow start falling 10-0 to the Glens Falls Titans in game one of pool play. A few bright spots, including a well hit double to center field from Ava Lane ultimately couldn’t result to runs as the Raiders weren’t able to find their stride.
Game two saw the Raiders rebound in a 8-2 victory of the Rotterdam Red Storm. Runs driven in by Addison, Ava, Veronica and Brielle put the Raiders up big while ace pitcher Kate Evans kept Rotterdam in check with 6 strikes outs while allowing only 3 hits over four innings.
A hard fought game three game down to the wire as South Colonie battled back from a 5-run deficit. Strong singles from Brielle, Amelia and Veronica helped get the Raiders within one run but the comeback ultimately fell short as the Raiders stalled at 5 to 6.
With a 1-3 record to close pool play, the Raiders occupy the 7th overall seed and will play Classie Lassies Ice in an early 9am elimination showdown in the first round of bracket play.
