South Colonie Raiders snatched the lead late in the game in an 11-7 victory over Niskayuna Red on Sunday. The game was tied at six with South Colonie Raiders batting in the top of the fifth when Lauren singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
South Colonie Raiders earned the victory despite allowing Niskayuna Red to score five runs in the second inning. Niskayuna Red 12U’s big inning was driven by singles by Miyah, Deanna, and Emma, a walk by Sally, and by Allison.
Niskayuna Red got things started in the first inning when Emma drew a walk, scoring one run.
In the top of the fourth inning, South Colonie Raiders tied things up at six when Veronica singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.
Kate took the win for South Colonie Raiders. The pitcher surrendered six runs on four hits over four innings, striking out six.
